Friday Book Share: The Passage

Hi SErs. Harmony here. Today, I’d like to share one of the most awesome trilogies I’ve read in a while, The Passage Series by Justin Cronin. Those of you who follow blog will have seen the 5-star reviews I gave to each book. Though each book is a long one, I found myself enjoying the read so much that I sped through the pages. Here are the covers, the book blurbs, and purchase links:

Amy Harper Bellafonte is six years old and her mother thinks she’s the most important person in the whole world.
She is.

Anthony Carter doesn’t think he could ever be in a worse place than Death Row.
He’s wrong.

FBI agent Brad Wolgast thinks something beyond imagination is coming.
It is.

In life I was a scientist called Fanning.

Then, in a jungle in Bolivia, I died.

I died, and then I was brought back to life…

Prompted by a voice that lives in her blood, the fearsome warrior known as Alicia of Blades is drawn towards to one of the great cities of The Time Before. The ruined city of New York. Ruined but not empty. For this is the final refuge of Zero, the first and last of The Twelve. The one who must be destroyed if mankind is to have a future.

What she finds is not what she’s expecting.

A journey into the past.

To find out how it all began.

And an opponent at once deadlier and more human than she could ever have imagined.

The black and white covers appeal to me. Often, B&W brings more definition to an image. What do you think?

How about you … have you read any good series lately? Or are you frustrated having spent a lot of reading time for little return? Let me know in the comments below.

  1. I’m a huge fan of black and white covers. (Maybe that makes me old, but I like to think it makes me discerning. LOL)

I haven’t read these books, but I watched the series and was so disappointed when it was canceled. Great share, Harmony.

  2. I love black and white photography. It’s so moody and atmospheric. I read The Lewis Trilogy by Peter May (mystery/suspense set on a remote Scottish Island). It was the moody black and white covers that initially drew me to the books. The series was superb.

I remember reading your excellent reviews of these books on your blog. Nice share, Harmony!

  3. Wow, these certainly sound intriguing. My reading time has been so limited this year, but I am on the second book of a series by Marcia Meara. I’m enjoying it!

I agree, there is something about the black and white covers.
